I am proud to be the Headteacher of Tiverton School. I began teaching at a mainstream primary school in the heart of Birmingham and always had a passion to make a difference to the learning of pupils with special educational needs and disabilities. I have worked in a variety of broad spectrum special schools, across the whole age range.

I am passionate in supporting children and their families to learn, enjoy and achieve, within the school community. At Tiverton the children are at the heart of all we do.

As a growing school, we are committed to recruiting and supporting enthusiastic dedicated staff, who work as a team to teach challenge and care for all our pupils and celebrate their achievements.

Alison Neale

My name is Chris Edwards-Dewey, and I am proud to be part of the team at Tiverton School. I have many years of experience working in special education teaching and leadership, supporting pupils with a wide range of needs. I am passionate about creating calm, structured learning environments where every child can achieve their best. I work closely with pupils, families, staff, and external agencies to ensure we provide the highest quality support and education. Outside of school, I’m a keen musician and play in a band, which gives me another way to stay creative and connected with others.

My name is Philippa Jones and have been working at Tiverton for a number of years. I started as a member of the senior support staff, whilst continuing with my own education and training to then become a teacher. During my career I have worked with and taught pupils across the whole school, from the youngest in Early years to the oldest in year 6.

I am now part of the Senior Leadership Team and my role is Assistant Head Teacher.

I am the phase leader for Early years and Key stage 1 and coordinate and lead on some of the inclusion links with our neighbouring school – Whitley Abbey Primary.

My name is Marisa Piedade, and I am proud to serve as an Assistant Head Teacher at Tiverton School. With years of experience supporting pupils with SEND, I have developed a strong knowledge of behaviour management strategies, including supporting those with sensory processing difficulties.

I began my journey here as a volunteer in 2014 and am now honoured to be part of the Senior Leadership Team. In my role as Assistant Head Teacher, I am fully committed to ensuring that every child in our care feels safe, happy, and supported in achieving their full potential.

It is a privilege to work closely with our pupils’ families and the wider school community to help each child thrive at Tiverton

I am the School Business Manager and part of the Senior Leadership Team at Tiverton School. I joined the school in 2019.

I have worked in Special Education Needs for the past 9 years.

I am responsible for the day to day running of the administration of the School including Finance, Human Resources and Site Services as well as Health and Safety. My role also extends to working with parents and helps develop the School at this exciting time as the school grows.

I am currently looking to develop our outdoor area therefore If you would like to get involved with any fundraising for the school please do not hesitate to contact me.

My name is Katie and I am the Pastoral Safeguarding Manager at Tiverton School. My main role is to support our amazing pupils and their families. I am also a Deputy Designated safeguarding lead and I oversee whole school attendance.

 I work with health professionals, social workers, and other agencies to make sure our pupils and families get the help they need. By working together, we can address the goals in our pupils Education, Health, and Care Plans, as well as any everyday concerns.

At Tiverton School, we believe that regular attendance is very important. We work in partnership with parents to encourage our students to come to school every day.

 I will be organising regular coffee mornings and parent groups throughout the year, where we’ll have speakers from different services or sometimes a more informal gathering.

 If you need advice or support for your family, please reach out to me. If I can’t help directly, I can signpost you to other services that can. I can meet with you in school, or arrange a home visit if this is more suitable.
